With St Patrick’s Day fast approaching, the ESCC would like to invite you to celebrate this special evening with us!

Date: Wednesday 17th March

Place: Galways Irish Pub,  Kungsgatan 25, Stockholm

Time: 18.00

For those of you unacquainted with St Patrick, here is a short biography:

Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was the first Christian missionary to Ireland. He was born near Dumbarton, Scotland in 387 and buried in Downpatrick, Ireland in 493.

At the time of his birth Britain was ruled by Rome. The language of the time was Latin and he was named Patricus. His father belonged to a Roman family of high rank and held the office of decurio in Britain. Conchessa, his mother, was a near relative of the great patron of Gaul, St. Martin of Tours.

Many legends have been told about Patrick’s miraculous powers and piety, and he is the most well known and most loved person in Irish history.
