Many cultural clubs like the ESCC have Activity Groups - Circles. Activity groups are organised by members themselves and focus on a particular activity that the group members share. This can be, for example, Cooking, Photography, Poetry Reading, Opera, a Book Circle or anything else the group chooses to engage in. The only stipulation is that, in accordance with the aims of the club, the language spoken will be English.
At present the ESCC has two groups. Armchair Philosophy The group has now been meeting monthly for over a year. The Sunday Walks The Sunday Walks is all about getting to know your new home town - Stockholm and having a good time together with other fellow members of the ESCC. While walking, I´ll let you know some facts about Stockholm in general and the area, we´re walking, in particular. The background of the streets and houses and the architectural ideas behind them and also the era in where they were built. And, I promise, it won´t be dry and boring! Often, we end the walk with a nice meal at one of the local coffee places or restaurants. Welcome to join! Chris Lindstrom The ESCC board would like to see more Activity Groups established and therefore we are encouraging anyone who has an idea for such a group to let our Membership Secretary, Peter Dulley, know and he will put you in touch with other ESCC members who are interested in the same activity so that you can get together with them. The size of the different Activity Groups will obviously vary but they certainly needn’t be very large. It’s not size but quality that’s the important thing! So please let Peter Dulley know if you’d like to get involved in an ESCC Activity Group. You can mail him at peter.dulley(at)comhem.se or ring him on 08 511 789 12.
