ESCC Film Evening, 7 July 2009
An ESCC film evening is being arranged for Tuesday 7 July. We plan to go to the cinema and see a film together and then afterwards (time permitting), go to a nearby pub or restaurant to discuss it. I will do my best to book an early evening showing (around 18.30) so that there is time for the discussion afterwards.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to come (email preferred) and when you sign up please remember to say which film(s) you would prefer to see and I will do my best to make sure that everyone is happy with the chosen film. If you give me your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of film it will help me to do this. I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you on Tuesday 7 July. Peter Dulley tel: 070 715 74 71

CANCELLED due to bad weather! City Walk! This time in Sundbyberg which is one of the oldest suburbs to Stockholm! Date and Time: Sunday, June 14th 11.00 a.m. Meeting point: Underground / Subway station: "Sundbyberg" - the ticket hall at the exit: Sturegatan / Rosengatan (The "Blue Line"!)
Dear Members! Sorry for this late notice but time for a walk again! "Very much depending on the upcoming railway between Stockholm and Västerås, the Sundbyberg station opened in 1876 and thereby made it possible for Sundbyberg to grow! A lot of factories started. Among them Sievert´s, who made telephone cables - a very prosperous manufacturer! (a big supplier to Ericsson´s telephone company!) Today, Sundbyberg is a highly popular suburb with a inner Stockholm feeling! A network of streets form a dense innercity atmospere with a lot of shops, restaurants and bars! Around 34.000 people live in the most densely populated area in Sweden! Also, unlike other bedroom suburbs, together with neighbouring Solna, it houses a lot of working places! In Sundbyberg alone, 17.000 people work. A great number of them commute to Sundbyberg from the rest of the Stockholm area!" Welcome! In case of very bad weather: the walk is cancelled, BUT to be on the safe side, call me on my cell / mobile phone: 0708 - 20 77 88! Christer Lindstrom Please, do sign up NOT later than June, 12th to:
